Two weeks old already!
Wow its hard to believe that Eli is already two weeks old already! Things are going great now and we are all settled in. I'm doing much better after the c-section and getting around much easier, and I can drive now which is soooo nice! So a little about whats been going on the last two weeks. After we came home from the hospital we had to go back and get some more blood work for Eli's jaundice. His counts were pretty high so the doctor put him on a bili blanket which we had at home so we didn't have to go back to the hospital and it worked great. After 5 days his jaundice counts were way better and we were able to take him off the bili blanket! Also when we left the hospital his weight was down to 8 lbs even, (he was 8.11) when he was born and then when we went to the doc it was down even more to 7.11 so the doc put us on a new feeding routine and when we went back 5 days later his weight was back up to 8.6 so we were pretty excited about that. I think the doctor wanted to jump up and down, she was pretty excited as well. So here are some new pictures of our little guy.
This picture is turned sideways but you can figure that out. He is laying in the sunlight to help with his jaundice. This was before we got the bili blanket.

Elijah Russell Coffey was born September 2, 2008 at 6:54 am. On monday (labor day) we came to the hospital at 8:00 am to be induced. I was 5 days over due and the doctor was predicting a large baby that would be a tight squeeze coming out. At 9:00 the Pitocen started and at 930 my water was broke by the doc. Contractions started going and I was doing great with them and David was a great coach. The contractions got to be about 1 min. long and were about every 2 mins. At 5:30 the Doc came in to check how I was doing and after 22 hours of labor i was only dilated to 4 so we ended up having a c-section at 6:30 and the baby was delivered at 6: 54 am. David was able to cut the cord and go with the baby back upstairs while i was in recovery. I guess he had quite the smile when he shared the new of our new little boy! Eli weight 8 pounds 11 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. A lot smaller than we were planning. we thought for sure the baby would be well over 9 pounds. He is very healthy and is such a great baby. He is latching on great for feeding but usually falls a sleep in the middle of it. David has been great and amazing and helping me and taking care of our son! Any questions feel free to ask. thanks for all the congrats and prayers. Oh me, im doing pretty good now. Still a tiny bit sore but it feels good to get up and walk around. We are now home and enjoying our little baby boy. He is so sweet and precious. We do have to go back to the hospital tomorrow morning because he has jaundice and we need to get his blood checked again. Pray that everything goes well and his counts get better. baby update and more...
Hey today (8-5-08) went to the Doc... here is what he said:
Iron and blood pressure are good. I am 36 weeks and 3 days, measuring 39 weeks... he said its gunna be a big baby. Heart beat was 135-140 range. Im not dilated but i'm 30% effaced and the baby is starting to drop. He thinks the baby will be right around on time not really early or late. However he did say i would have it before september 3 because thats when he is going on vacation... lol i better have it before then! And lastly... he is guessing that im going to have a Boy.
This past weekend we went to Chicago to bring Davids aunt back to the airport. We had a great trip. We went to IKEA and then over to Bass Pro Shop which was right next door. Then we had a long time before we could check into our hotel so we decided to go to the Brookfield Zoo... I had never been there before and it was really run... but also pretty hot about 90 degrees the whole day. Here are some pics!

this was just a funny sign we saw i had to take a picture of it. It asked if you wanted to stop and smell the poop.

All Moved In!
Yeah we are finally all moved into our new place and it's so nice... there are only a few boxes left to unpack yet and they are filled with junk we probably don't even need! LOL Went to the doctor today as well. Heart beat is keeping steady at 150 and I'm measuring at 34 weeks which is where I am so thats good. We also started our child birthing classes tonight. They last for 2.5 hours for 4 Mondays in a row! That is way to long to sit in a folding chair. So here are some pictures of the new place.
This is the front of the apartment... I get the garage and David gets a car port.
There is a large side yard off to the left of the building.
This is when you walk in the front door. There is the living room/dinning room and kitchen.
This is the baby's room. This room also has the sliding door that goes out to our patio.
This is the master bedroom, its bigger than our last aparmtent.
Here is the bathroom. Not to much exciting about those!

Baby Stuff...
So I went online today and found our baby bedding set that I wanted on sale for a good deal so I called David up who was out biking and asked if I could buy it and he said yes! So I ordered it up and can't wait to get it. It should be in by the 14th which is right in the middle of us moving to our new place so its being shipped to my moms house. I also ordered from Target the mobile, wall hangings and diaper stacker because we had a bunch of gift cards from there that we got from National City! So yeah, I'm finally getting my Turtle bedding and I'm so excited because now I can start setting up our nursery when we move... well I guess we have to buy the furniture first but Jen is taking me to Target to get that and she is getting me a good deal (20% off)! So I will be sure to post pictures of all the new stuff when we get it and of our new place.
Here is a reminder picture of what the bedding set, wall hangings, mobile, and diaper stacker look like! Aren't they so stinking cute... I guess I just love turtle so much!

A busy weekend
Hey everyone,
David and I have had a busy weekend starting off on Friday night with Kim and Rick Bartz wedding. It was so nice! Ive known Kim since 3rd grade and it was so special to be able to celebrate with them. Saturday morning I went into work for about 4 hours to get my room ready for Center Of Excellence. I got pretty much everything done except for hanging up new art work and that sort of stuff. After that I came home and packed up more boxes getting ready to move. Then we went to Davids 5 year class reunion. I cant believe we've been out of high school for 5 years already.
So if anyone one feels like spending $2,320 on me I would love to have this "Flower Fish" painting my Dr. Seuss. It was so beautiful! They had it on display at the Pinnacle Center.

An update on our lives!
Hi Everyone who reads this blog,
7 months or 29 weeks and 2 days

Today we went to the doctor for another check up. Everything is looking good. Heart beat is still at 150 which is where it has been the whole time so far. The baby is head down with its back to my left side and its butt up top where its supposed to be. David went with me to the doctor and got to hear the baby's heart beat for the first time and was pretty happy to hear it. He smiled so big. The baby loves it when David talks... I know this because when ever he does the baby starts kicking like crazy. I got David a book for Fathers Day called "I love my Daddy" and so he read it to the baby and it started kicking me. As far as weight gain I'm actually gaining. Taking what I have gained minus what I had lost in the beginning I am 3 pounds heaver then when I got pregnant. As far as a growing belly I grew 6cm in the last four weeks and the doc said that was a little more than average. I had my RhoGam shot last week and everything went good with that. We also sign up for our child birth classes that start July 21 - Aug 11 every monday so we get to look forward to that!
Other things happening in our lives:
We are currently in the process of looking for a new place to live and we think we may have found the place for us. Its a two bedroom apartment, with a garage and a car port which is nice. It has washer and dryer hookup but no washer and dryer... and no dishwasher... bummer but thats okay because it is an end unit so there is a window above the kitchen sick for us to look out if we are doing dishes. And the view is of a nice big grassy yard with trees in the distance. It comes with a patio and lots of storage which is nice. Plus here is the really nice thing... its less than what we are paying now in rent and there is no one living above us or under us only one person to the side... and thats the side the garage is on. So we are pretty sure thats going to be our new home for the next year which is exciting because when we move I can start working on the nursery! YEAH.. so pray that everything goes well with our checks and that we can get the apartment and get everything packed and moved in a nice fashion!
