Elijah's first SNOW

This one is our favorite. We took these pictures from Eli's bedroom. There is a nice big sliding door in there with a pretty view of the snow so of course I had to get some pictures! This one might end up as a christmas card this year... what do you think?
this is another one of my favorites but you cant see the snow in it.
He is such a happy boy. Every morning when I wake up its usually to a happy face like in this picture!
Im not sure what he was thinking in this picture but it is cute and shows his how to build a snowman shirt off well and all the snow that we had outside!
This is one of Elijahs new things to do... blow bubbles... LOL it is so cute but messy. He also discoverd his tounge last week so thats always going in and out of his mouth as well!
Eli is now up to THREE times with rolling over. He is getting so big and strong and we are just loving him to pieces. He weighed in at 12.9 and was 24 in. at his 2 month appt.

Our Happy Guy!

Elijah is getting so big already and we are loving him like crazy. On October 20, 2008 he rolled over for the first time and he was only 6 weeks & 6 days old! It was from tummy to back. I was so surprised when he did because usually babies don't roll over until they are around 3-4 months old! I don't think he will roll over again for a while but it was fun seeing him do it for the first time. These are some of my favorite pictures of Elijah. The green hat he is wearing I got from Childrens Place this past spring in Birch Run for less than a dollar and it is so cute on him. I love the green and light blues on him. This first picture is just to cute. We got home one day and he had fallen alseep and his hat had tipped on his head. It was just to cute not to get a picture and miss the moment!

Here he is in his bouncy seat. He loves to listen to the little music that plays and when it stops he gets fussy until we turn it back on. Its to cute. He is wearing a cute turtle outfit I got last year on clearance from Carters and a pair of shoes that the McComiskey's gave us as a shower gift. They are so cute and i couldn't wait for him to wear them, but they were all to big but i had to get a picture of him in them before i took them off.
Here is our happy little guy. I had just put him in his car seat and was talking to him and he just started smiling like crazy. He recognizes mommy and daddy and loves to share his smiles with us. Especailly when daddy gets home from work at night.
So happy
Adorable

Two weeks old already!

Wow its hard to believe that Eli is already two weeks old already! Things are going great now and we are all settled in. I'm doing much better after the c-section and getting around much easier, and I can drive now which is soooo nice! So a little about whats been going on the last two weeks. After we came home from the hospital we had to go back and get some more blood work for Eli's jaundice. His counts were pretty high so the doctor put him on a bili blanket which we had at home so we didn't have to go back to the hospital and it worked great. After 5 days his jaundice counts were way better and we were able to take him off the bili blanket! Also when we left the hospital his weight was down to 8 lbs even, (he was 8.11) when he was born and then when we went to the doc it was down even more to 7.11 so the doc put us on a new feeding routine and when we went back 5 days later his weight was back up to 8.6 so we were pretty excited about that. I think the doctor wanted to jump up and down, she was pretty excited as well. So here are some new pictures of our little guy.

Eli's first bath at home... he peed on himself when getting changed so a bath was important!

This picture is turned sideways but you can figure that out. He is laying in the sunlight to help with his jaundice. This was before we got the bili blanket.
family shot
Eli surrounded by turtles. on his onesie, and on the two blankets
Sleeping in his swing
sleeping in his bouncy seat with his turtle in front of him.
Mommy and Eli
lol this picture is sideways also. But its cute. David love Eli and always takes him right out of my arms as soon as he gets home from work. Hes such a great daddy!
Daddy and Eli taking a nap... daddy needed to be close to Eli.
you can kind of see the yellow of his skin in the picture from his jaundice. His coloring is so much better now

ITS A BOY!

Elijah Russell Coffey

Born September 2, 2008
6:54 Am
8 pounds 11 ounces
20.5 inches long.

Absolutely Perfect!

Elijah Russell Coffey was born September 2, 2008 at 6:54 am. On monday (labor day) we came to the hospital at 8:00 am to be induced. I was 5 days over due and the doctor was predicting a large baby that would be a tight squeeze coming out. At 9:00 the Pitocen started and at 930 my water was broke by the doc. Contractions started going and I was doing great with them and David was a great coach. The contractions got to be about 1 min. long and were about every 2 mins. At 5:30 the Doc came in to check how I was doing and after 22 hours of labor i was only dilated to 4 so we ended up having a c-section at 6:30 and the baby was delivered at 6: 54 am. David was able to cut the cord and go with the baby back upstairs while i was in recovery. I guess he had quite the smile when he shared the new of our new little boy! Eli weight 8 pounds 11 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. A lot smaller than we were planning. we thought for sure the baby would be well over 9 pounds. He is very healthy and is such a great baby. He is latching on great for feeding but usually falls a sleep in the middle of it. David has been great and amazing and helping me and taking care of our son! Any questions feel free to ask. thanks for all the congrats and prayers. Oh me, im doing pretty good now. Still a tiny bit sore but it feels good to get up and walk around.

We are now home and enjoying our little baby boy. He is so sweet and precious. We do have to go back to the hospital tomorrow morning because he has jaundice and we need to get his blood checked again. Pray that everything goes well and his counts get better.
