Wow its hard to believe that Eli is already two weeks old already! Things are going great now and we are all settled in. I'm doing much better after the c-section and getting around much easier, and I can drive now which is soooo nice! So a little about whats been going on the last two weeks. After we came home from the hospital we had to go back and get some more blood work for Eli's jaundice. His counts were pretty high so the doctor put him on a bili blanket which we had at home so we didn't have to go back to the hospital and it worked great. After 5 days his jaundice counts were way better and we were able to take him off the bili blanket! Also when we left the hospital his weight was down to 8 lbs even, (he was 8.11) when he was born and then when we went to the doc it was down even more to 7.11 so the doc put us on a new feeding routine and when we went back 5 days later his weight was back up to 8.6 so we were pretty excited about that. I think the doctor wanted to jump up and down, she was pretty excited as well. So here are some new pictures of our little guy.
This picture is turned sideways but you can figure that out. He is laying in the sunlight to help with his jaundice. This was before we got the bili blanket.

Elijah Russell Coffey was born September 2, 2008 at 6:54 am. On monday (labor day) we came to the hospital at 8:00 am to be induced. I was 5 days over due and the doctor was predicting a large baby that would be a tight squeeze coming out. At 9:00 the Pitocen started and at 930 my water was broke by the doc. Contractions started going and I was doing great with them and David was a great coach. The contractions got to be about 1 min. long and were about every 2 mins. At 5:30 the Doc came in to check how I was doing and after 22 hours of labor i was only dilated to 4 so we ended up having a c-section at 6:30 and the baby was delivered at 6: 54 am. David was able to cut the cord and go with the baby back upstairs while i was in recovery. I guess he had quite the smile when he shared the new of our new little boy! Eli weight 8 pounds 11 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. A lot smaller than we were planning. we thought for sure the baby would be well over 9 pounds. He is very healthy and is such a great baby. He is latching on great for feeding but usually falls a sleep in the middle of it. David has been great and amazing and helping me and taking care of our son! Any questions feel free to ask. thanks for all the congrats and prayers. Oh me, im doing pretty good now. Still a tiny bit sore but it feels good to get up and walk around. We are now home and enjoying our little baby boy. He is so sweet and precious. We do have to go back to the hospital tomorrow morning because he has jaundice and we need to get his blood checked again. Pray that everything goes well and his counts get better.
